Description

The next time you find yourself smashing down a narrow, technical piece of singletrack, you'll be glad to have the extra protection of the Louis Garneau Edge Mountain Bike Glove. Garneau placed protection strategically to keep the glove as lightweight as possible, but it covers the typical areas of pain and injury well.

Think of where your hand hurts at the end of a ride, or after a good crash. The most common area for injury is the heel of the hand. This is the area that (hopefully) takes most of the impact in a typical fall, and it's where Garneau put a Kevlar-covered pad to reduce injury. Padding was also added directly behind the fingers where calluses and blisters develop, as well as to the knuckles that see impact from trailside brush. The Edge employs Garneau's patented MTB-specific Ergo Air Concept, which forces air through the glove to keep your hand cool, dry, and comfortable.

The Edge's palm is made from a multi-panel leather that feels natural due to its built-in curved finger design. The hook-and-loop adjustment at the cuff makes it easy to give the Edge a custom fit, and a low-profile cuff pull tab makes it easier to pull the gloves on. Garneau also included a soft microfiber thumb wipe.

The Louis Garneau Edge Glove is available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the color Black.

Went through two of these and not willing to give it a third try. Both times I’ve had these the palm padding separated from the gloves on the same hand. First time was a bit aggressive as I went flying and I grabbed a tree to stop. Second time however it was just from the first day of riding with them where there was no grabbing or flying involved. Just a smooth normal cross country ride. It’s unfortunate because the gloves look nice and also provide good ventilation. The second time with the gloves was probably the warmest ride I’ve been on where I was soaking wet and still the gloves were comfortable and easy to remove. Fit was good width wise, but length was slightly long in the fingers.
