It replaced the previously used PaceStar compound, boosting durability massively, adding grip, and better damping than the compound we'd loved for many years. The sidewalls are reinforced with SnakeSkin protection to defend against punctures and tears from rough terrain that bites back, and does its best to keep you from ending up stranded when you're pushing the limits in the backcountry among fell trees and sharp shale. At 2.6-inches in width, this tire walks the line perfectly between a standard tire and a plus tire, giving you an extra plush ride and grip, without the necessary tire clearance of a plus bike.
